At the National Assembly meeting on the morning of May 25. Many deputies stated that thousands of MW of wind and solar power could not be generated on the grid, while having to import electricity from China and Laos was a waste, and the responsibility needed to be clarified.

The Minister of Finance said that he had discussed with the Minister of Industry and Trade to remove obstacles.

The MOIT said that the current problem is not prices or procedures, it’s about capacity problems, now we have enough electricity.

Responding to why not reduce electricity purchased from abroad, the MOIT said that VN has signed an agreement with foreign countries, now it is impossible to negotiate to cut it.

According to the Minister of Finance, it is necessary to amend some regulations, especially the Law on Planning and the Law on Public Investment.
